What do you know about meditation ? 

     If someone says "I meditate" what comes to your mind?



        


    

The word meditation is derived from a Latin word meditari meaning "to think" . Meditation enables perception , peace and wellbeing.

According to wikipedia

Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.  

  The keyword  here is focus, pushing your worries aside close your eyes focus and look within you .

  • Lowers heart rate and oxygen consumption

Just like any other habit meditation can become easier when it's part of  your routine . 

 If you haven't attempted meditation or you tried meditating but you couldn't get it right ,   you should try this technique I would be listing out.
     
1.  LOCATION FOR MEDITATION
            Choosing a parmanent and suitable location is best for a good meditation . It eliminates potential distractions and mind wandering. It could be a dark place or a well lited area , I don't know your preference but trust me meditation won't work out when there's a slight discomfort .

 2. POSITION

     It's not necessary to sit with your legs  folded in a lotus position. Infact there's WALKING MEDITATION  but I'll advice you to use the sitting position for maximum results .

START THE PROCESS

Close your eyes.

Put your muscles at rest .

Take a deep breath and hold .

Release your breath slowly  through your mouth.

Eliminate thoughts or let only a thought you want to meditate on.

When you are out of air , breath  with the normal process  but slowly.

Do this for has long  has you have to spare , preferably 5-10 minutes.

Note

You would feel calmness all over you when you are done with exercise . Treat meditation as part of your self-care routine that helps you feel better and less stressed and not an exercise that would solve your problems.

Meditation should not be used as a replacement for conventional health care or as a reason to postpone seeing a doctor.
